Here in Elgin, Illinois, we get a lot of freezing cold temperatures.
It can be in the twenties during the months of December and January and we frequently get snow. Thankfully, we are far enough away from Lake Michigan that we don’t fully feel the effect of the lake snow, winds, and ice. One thing that my family and I love about our home in Elgin, Illinois is the fact that we have an inground pool. Most people in the area do not have inground pools due to the sub frigid temperatures that occur during January and February. We keep the pool running during the entire year so we can enjoy the benefits. We have a furnace that runs the pool. The furnace is smaller than the furnace in the house and it is only responsible for heating the pool water. It costs a lot of money to have a furnace specifically for the pool, but I don’t mind spending the extra money so we can swim in a heated pool the whole year. Problems with the pool heater require a special Elgin, Illinois heating company. When we had a problem last weekend with the pool heater, I immediately contacted the Elgin heating company. If the pool water gets too cold, then there is a risk that the marsite will crack and those repairs are very expensive. As soon as I realized that the water was below the normal temperature, I contacted the Elgin heating company and made an appointment for the following day. They were there first thing in the morning, before the pool temperature water became too low.
