Whenever I heard about Niagara Falls, I thought I would need to go to Canada to see them. My parents had been there for their honeymoon, and they always talked fondly about Niagara Falls. I assumed they had gone to Canada, but when I talked to my mom, she said no. They drove to Buffalo, NY, where the falls could be seen from the United States. Mom and Dad got married at the end of October, and I was thinking it had to be a beautiful week for them, but Mom said no again. She told me it was already getting cold, and if they hadn’t had heat in the car and heating in their hotel room, they would have frozen to death. They traveled almost 1000 miles for their honeymoon. When my husband and I went to Niagara Falls, we stayed in a small hotel in Buffalo, NY. The area was gorgeous, but we went in the summer. It was warm, but we were comfortable, unlike how warm it was down south where we lived. Our guided tour of Niagara Falls, US, was pricey, but we had a marvelous time. Even as warm as it was outside, I was still shivering when the mist of the falls soaked me through. I couldn’t wait to get back to our hotel, but I was glad we came to Buffalo, NY. It was an experience I will never forget. On our way back home, we talked about moving up north and living somewhere near Buffalo, NY. My husband handed me a brochure about the city that he had picked up while in the hotel. The first thing I saw was how much snow they got in the winter. I didn’t want to move anymore.
