The weather in Lakeland can be extremely warm and humid, and especially during the summer months.
Lakeland is filled with numerous lakes and waterways.
All of these lakes are perfect for boating, fishing, and kayaking. My friends and I went to Lake Mirror for the day. We took the bass boat on the water so we could catch some fish. The first part of the morning was boring, because the fish weren’t biting. After lunch, the fish were much more active. We spent most of the day in Lakeland and when we were done, we grabbed some dinner at a restaurant in town. The restaurant is right on the water. They will cook anything that you pull out of the water. Unfortunately, my friends and I were skunked that day. We didn’t catch a single fish that was big enough to keep. We got some red snapper from the restaurant that had been caught the same day and it was absolutely delicious. It tasted as fresh as it was. Temperatures were really warm that day and it was hot in the restaurant. The restaurant didn’t have any air conditioning, because it was on the water. We were seated outside. Without air conditioning, it was very warm and humid. There was a light breeze, but it didn’t really help get rid of the heat and humidity. I think it was around 95 degrees that day and the sun was still shining brightly. By the time I got back to my apartment, I was ready to lay down and relax with the fan and the air conditioner running on high.
