When work moved myself and others to Illinois at first I was excited.
I was hopeful to get a neighborhood sitement and prefer all the benefits of Chicago, then when I heard I was going to Lansing, I was pretty bummed, lansing is about an minute away from the city, now an minute does not sound that far, however who genuinely wants to do neighborhood driving? I kind of figured I would end up hating my area; Turns out there is plenty to do in Lansing.
It is not a bustling neighborhood however there are fun things like Centennial Park, Lan Oak Lakes and Brownell Woods. There seems to be plenty of things I enjoy doing with children here and a lot of nature oriented things. Illinois is a beautiful state that has a lot of beautiful sights. I am glad I am in a location where I can take advantage of that. The weather here isn’t even that bad. With Illinois you are going to get some cold. I make sure to have a regularly working heating system in my home. I sprung to have hydronic heating since there was already a boiler in my basement. Now I have toasty heated flooring and a snowmelt plan in the driveway. I constantly can pop into a heated car and go about my afternoon. The snow doesn’t slow this little neighborhood down though, you can still prefer the nature trails or see the tourist-like sites no matter the time of year. I am kind of glad that I still get to experience the frigid and snow.
