My house in Glenview, IL, was built while in the mid 1770’s, but while I’m blissful with the historic charm, an older property presents some challenges, but the oil furnace is extremely outdated and insufficient to handle the drastic weather.
Winters in Glenview are long, snowy and chilly cold.
Temperatures in the teens are normal. The two of us occasionally get conditions in the setbacks. The design of the HVAC duct and number of supply and return vents can’t keep up while in especially freezing weather, certain rooms are chilly cold, and i don’t want to go to the work, mess and expense of chopping out and replacing the entire duct system. I was not only unhappy with the performance of the oil furnace however wanted some kind of cooling system; After a lot of research, I finally decided to add a ductless multi-split system. The ductless system includes an outdoor compressor and several indoor air handlers. The units are linked by way of a conduit that requires nothing more than a multiple-inch hole in an exterior wall. The ductless heat pump was installed in a single day without causing any injure to the home. The components are beautifully compact, allow freedom of location and operate quietly! Each indoor air handler provides both heating and cooling and features an independent control unit. Along with keeping every room perfectly comfortable, we’re able to customize the temperature according to occupancy, requirements and preference. The ductless system features inverter technology that works to automatically adapt output to changing demands and conserve energy. Adding the heat pump has not only improved comfort however also reduced my energy bills.
