I tried to talk to a couple of companies that are not local plus our friends of mine to find out how much I should bid for the job. I did not want to be the lowest bid plus I did not want to be the highest either. I wanted to make sure that I was somewhere near the bottom. I submitted my proposal for the Heating & Air Conditioning system in the university plus I included two separate estimates, however the university already has a central heating plus cooling system, despite the fact that I thought it was a fine idea for the university board to have an quote for updating to a ductless system instead. This would allow the university to save money by not heating or cooling rooms when there are no classes going on. The Plano, TX university board called me on Monday plus they wanted to talk with me about the contract bid. I told them that I would meet with them as soon as they wanted. I was absolutely happy that they called me. The university board had a couple of questions plus they wanted to know if I could lower the quote at all. I told them I could really drop the price by 10%, but lowering the price any more than that would mean using cheaper materials plus I did not feel that was a fine idea.
