People told me that the weed in California would be the best I had ever smoked, but I still like some of the batches I got during my few years in a large state in the northern midwest. The climate in these places was somewhat ideal outside of the harshest winter months, especially in the rain-filled summers. However, my girlfriend needed to be closer to her parents who live in Encino, giving us no option but to move to our current locale in Tarzana. I’ll admit, the Los Angeles area is much more beautiful in person—the photos I saw ahead of time do not really do it the justice that it deserves. The neighborhoods of Tarzana that are south of Ventura Blvd gradually slope up into the Santa Monica Mountains like they do in Laurel Canyon and the Hollywood Hills on the other side of Westridge-Canyonback Wilderness Park. I live on Rosita St, but my old apartment was in a neighborhood on the edge of Reseda. I feel extremely fortunate to possess the financial means to have a house on Rosita St in Tarzana after so many years of struggling with money. I’m lucky to have so many great neighbors here as well, most of which smoke weed openly in public on their back porches and front lawns. Now that cannabis is legal recreationally in the state of California, the stigma towards smoking marijuana has been eroded down to virtually nothing. My favorite cannabis dispensary is on Tampa Ave near the Tarzana Recreation Center. There’s another great weed store at the intersection of Miranda St and Yolanda Ave that runs amazing sales at least once a month.
