The rest of us have to put in time plus effort to be good at things. For me, the focus was regularly on gardening; I felt that I was “in my element” when I was in a garden, however after graduating school with a degree in horticulture plus botany, I decided that if I wanted to learn how to grow cannabis, I needed to start in Portland, Oregon. For years I had heard that the cannabis farmers in the Portland area were some of the best in the world. I was not interested in merely learning the basics about cannabis farming, I wanted to know the advanced techniques that made the weed from Portland so much better than other crops. I visited more than 2 weird Portland cannabis farms, where I offered to work for free just to see how they grew their crops. The first three cannabis farmers turned me down, because they didn’t want to show me their secrets. The third farmer was new to the Portland area, plus needed a lot of extra help, so she brought me onboard. I was hesitant to accept, because I wanted an authentic Portland original to teach me, but after that my associate and I found out that Gus had 30 years experience growing cannabis. I know she should be able to teach me a thing or 2.
