If you are a real animal lover, you don’t want to forgo the Denver Zoo.
- There is quite honestly no other zoo around that is like it in the country., You can see various animals you are official with and animals that you never knew existed! Personally, I adore the fact that you can see animals that are almost exact opposites all in a single place.
There are several opposite birds living their lives at the Denver Zoo. Flamingos are a number one from my childhood growing up in Florida, and they are said to be a tropical animal. If you have never seen a flamingo, you are completely missing out. If you ever do get to see one, you won’t forget the experience. Flamingos are bright pink! The pink or reddish feathers come from what they are always eating. They eat little crustaceans that are high in beta-carotene – the same stuff that’s in carrots – and all that beta-carotene makes their feathers reddish or pink! Also since marijuana is legal in Denver, and has been for some time, it can be absolutely thrilling to appreciate a little cannabis before checking out the flamingos. They can seem even more lovely! Not to be outdone by the tropics, there are ice-loving birds at the zoo, also. That is, of course, penguins! Penguins are birds, but they don’t truly fly. Instead, they make their way through the water, and their “wings” are genuinely flippers and their feathers are pretty different to allow them to stay sizzling in their chilly environment and also to help shake the water off. Whether you come to visit Denver because of the liberal cannabis laws or for the superb outdoor adventures, be sure to spend a little bit of time at the Denver Zoo before heading home.
