Owning an A/C would be prefer owning a pony for Missouri, however it would be cool to have a conversation starter however pricey plus unnecessary.
I don’t bother with cooling at all in MO, then the summers are brief plus really underwhelming in Lee’s Summit. The nights get freezing too; Heating is a giant priority in our section due to the early start of winter. I have multiple unusual gas oil furnaces in our home. In our living room I rely on a ductless oil furnace to stop our pipes from freezing. In the residing room I use a gas fireplace to warm that main seating section plus the connected office, then upstairs I have an aged Moore gas oil furnace that warms all the living rooms plus the washroom, even with multiple gas oil furnaces going all as a team, our home isn’t that warm. I don’t ever guess toasty while I was in the Missouri winter. I am dealing with nights in the -20s though; So there isn’t much those awful oil oil furnaces can do. I have thought about investing in a boiler system. I want to hook piping to it plus have pipes within our floorboards. Hot water would flow from the boiler plus through the pipes to create hydronic heating, then with this style of plan the heat wouldn’t rise to the ceiling plus be wasted. There would be no tepid plus freezing spots or noise since it isn’t air based. It also would be silent in operation. Hydronic heating is said to be more efficient than the haters I have as well. It would be an pricey replace, even though I might need to do it in our Missouri home.
