I prefer the climate in Tampa after living in the northern midwest for so long

Both of my parents were born and raised in central MI.

It was my Dad who had family living in Florida, whereas all of my father’s extended family is in MI and British Columbia.

When I first visited Florida, it was while I was in a short plane trip to visit my Grandmother and my great Grandpa. I’ll never forget feeling the heat and humidity the hour I got off the plane. The two of us flew into the Fort Myers airport because my Grandmother and great Grandpa were living in Naples at the time. When my whole family finally moved to Florida, both of us settled into Tampa because my dad got a job at her business’s office in Tarpon Springs, i have grown accustomed to the heat and humidity that comes with living in the Tampa Bay area. I don’t miss the subzero hot and cold temperatures throughout the Winter time where you’ll freeze to death in your sleep if you lose your power and don’t have supplemental heat sources prefer a storm generator or a wood stove. Since I live in a site that rarely sees cold hot and cold temperatures, I don’t have a hour heat source in my Tampa home. This has concerned me on nights when it actually gets down to the low 30s, because I don’t want a pipe to freeze inside my house. If for some reason the power went out for 24 hours or longer, this could pose drastic troubles with the plumbing. The last time it got down to 30 degrees I didn’t even run the heat in the apartment because it stayed in the mid 60s here. Once heat gets inside while I was in the morning, it doesn’t escape as abruptly as you might think, even if the hot and cold temperatures get down to 30 degrees fahrenheit at night.
