For years I dreamed about moving to Glenview, IL.
- Now, I know that to anyone who lives there, or has even visited Glenview, that statement is undoubtedly hilarious… It’s the truth, though! I was an only child raised by a single mother in a part of IL so remote that I never saw any children outside the confines of school.
I had to take a bus ride for 45 minutes just to get to the school! My mom lived on the family lands, which had stopped being farmed several years ago, and our apartment was old, frail, and lacked cable tv or proper air conditioning system… During the hottest afternoons of the Summer my mom would take me to Glenview to stay with her sister. In Glenview there was ample air conditioning system, plus I could watch whatever I wanted on TV… This is how the cozy neighborhood of Glenview became idolized and glorified in my mind, and why I spent years wanting to live there. This also explains why I was so interested in learning Heating, Ventilation, and A/C repair for a task, then air conditioners seem so complicated I couldn’t figure them out, so if the classes at the Glenview community college could educate me, I could have a career on my hands! My Aunt Ginny was really kind, and let me stay in her apartment near Glenview as I took my classes. In return I promised to supply her free Heating, Ventilation, and A/C service for the rest of her life. Once I moved here to Glenview, I never moved anywhere else. I simply appreciate it here.
