For years I dreamed about moving to Glenview, IL… Now, I know that to anyone who lives there, or has even visited Glenview, that statement is definitely hilarious, and it’s the truth, though! I was an only child raised by a single mother in a part of IL so remote that I never saw any children outside the confines of college.
- I had to take a bus ride for 45 minutes just to get to the college! My Dad lived on the family lands, which had stopped being farmed several years ago, but our apartment was old, frail, as well as lacked cable tv or official air conditioner… During the hottest afternoons of the summer time my Dad would take me to Glenview to stay with her sister.
In Glenview there was ample air conditioner, plus I could watch whatever I wanted on TV, but this is how the cozy town of Glenview became idolized as well as glorified in my mind, as well as why I spent years wanting to live there. This also explains why I was so interested in learning Heating as well as A/C repair for a job! Air conditioners seem so complicated I couldn’t figure them out, so if the classes at the Glenview community college could educate me, I could have a job on my hands!
