FL is hot and humid throughout the entire year, but even in December, the humidity can still be awful, then last year at Christmas, it was 85°! The kids did not want to go outside to ride their modern bikes because the temperatures were so warm, and a lot of people around the country experience chilly temperatures and snow or ice during the month of December, but around here Winter time has no bearing on our afternoon-to-day lives! Summer, on the other hand, tends to bring with it a lot of problems.
One problem in particular is Summer tropical storms and hurricanes.
They hit The Villages frequently and that means that there is a lot of cleanup afterwards… My mom and Mom live in The Villages in a lake house that has three living rooms and numerous bathrooms. They have lived in The Villages for the past 10 years. This year when a hurricane was supposed to hit The Villages head on, I made sure that I was there to help my mom and Mom, then i did not guess they were going to leave their lake lake house and I was right. My husbandy and I went to stay with my parents in The Villages. The storm missed the section by 50 miles and that made a huge difference. Many people in the section lost power for a week or more, but my parents did not have to worry about that problem. They contacted an HVAC company years ago and had a generator installed that can power the whole house. The HVAC system is hooked directly to the generator so it automatically comes on if there is no power.
