I had a facility built on my dad’s grape fields because I wanted to make wine in IN, and it made sense to have my own building. I needed a large space to home my wine tanks, carboys & all my grape stomping equipment, the con of this was because wine is so temperamental, I had a lot of costs. I needed running water, electricity, heating & cooling. It wasn’t cheap at all getting a great winery on the fields. I ended up spending a ton on an electrician & professional plumber; When it came time for the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C, I will confess I skimped out. I didn’t want to spend money any more extra money than I needed to for my Evansville IN facility. I tried to get a cash deal with the local Heating, Ventilation, & A/C dealership & they would not take it, but so instead I found a handyman, bought a Heating, Ventilation, & A/C device online & swung a deal with him. I chose a ductless heat pump since it provides both heating & cooling. I wanted it mounted on the back of the winery to hide it from the road. I then could control the temperature through a smart thermostat. I wouldn’t have to be at the fields to ensure the wine stayed at the right temperature. Will you get what you spend money for? It would have cost the girl more money & been harder to run the wiring to the back of my winery; She installed the heat pump while I wasn’t there & mounted it right by the front door. It is fully functional & does the task. However, it makes my winery look like crap, and eventually I will need to hire a Heating, Ventilation, & A/C business to move it to where it should go.
