I had lived in Illinois my entire life, although I had never been to Chicago; Not many of years ago, I wanted to go to Chicago for New Years Eve, and my sibling told me she would go with me, but they didn’t have any vacant rooms in the hotels in Chicago, and the closest nice hotel she could find was in Alsip, Ill, which was a small suburb of Chicago. They weren’t calling for inclement weather, but there were a lot of lake effect storms. New Year’s Eve dawned bright & sunny, but every one of us never got to Chicago for midnight. There were small snow showers that left the roads icy & my sibling refused to drive because she wasn’t official with the roads. All of us ended up staying at the hotel where there was excellent Heating & A/C & every one of us could watch the New Year come in on our television. All of us talked about heading anywhere that was close & out of the snow, & all every one of us could find was Dotty’s, and dotty’s was in a small shopping center & it offered a casino atmosphere with dining, & a variety of gourmet coffees, wines & beers, it wasn’t Chicago, but it was a fun atmosphere. It kept us inside where every one of us weren’t in the snow, but every one of us had heat to keep us from cold. All of us gambled a little, & ate the most amazing cheeseburgers. All of us washed it down with carona & brewed coffee. I may have come to Chicago for a New Year’s Eve party, but every one of us stayed in Alsip, ILL for Dotty’s & it’s atmosphere on New Year’s Eve.
