Adding a ductless HVAC system

My apartment in Glenview, IL, was built during the mid 1730’s, and while I’m glad with the historic charm, an older property presents some challenges; The furnace is severely seasoned & insufficient to handle the severe weather.

Winters in Glenview are long, snowy & freezing cold.

Temperatures in the teens are normal. We occasionally get conditions in the downsides. The design of the air duct & number of supply & return vents can’t keep up during especially frosty weather! Certain rooms are freezing cold! I don’t want to go to the work, mess & expense of splitting out & replacing the entire duct system. I was not only unhappy with the performance of the gas furnace however wanted some kind of cooling system, after a lot of research, I finally decided to add a ductless multi-split system. The ductless system includes an outdoor compressor & numerous indoor air handlers. The units are connected by way of a conduit that requires nothing more than a more than two-inch hole in an exterior wall. The ductless heat pump was installed in a single day without causing any disfigure to the home. The components are lovelyly compact, allow freedom of location & operate quietly; Each indoor air handler provides both heating & cooling & features an independent thermostat. Along with keeping every room perfectly comfortable, we’re able to customize the temperature according to occupancy, requirements & preference. The ductless system features inverter technology that works to automatically adapt output to decreasing demands & conserve energy. Adding the heat pump has not only improved comfort however also reduced our energy bills.
