Here is the way major films are made; After an extensive writing plus production phase, it’s time to film, or “shoot” as my associate and I call it; First comes location shooting, which is when the actors plus the whole crew go out to a real location to film scenes, and once that is wrapped, it’s time for studio shooting, and this is just what you know it is, filming everything else my associate and I need inside a controlled studio environment.
Once that is done the editor (in this case, me) assembles the film, plus then comes the “pick-up shots” to fill in any gaps, if you know making films is easy, you are way off base! My associate and I have been shooting this wacky weed comedy in Denver for two weeks already, with no end in sight.
This isn’t a complaint about the neighborhood at all, because Denver has been welcoming to our production team. The people of Denver are certainly chill, plus most of them seem interested in our project, but some cities hate when outsiders come in to make films or TV shows, however Denver can’t get enough of the glitz plus glamor! The whole reason my associate and I are shooting in Denver is because the film has been underwritten plus produced by a consortium of local cannabis dispensaries. They want to highlight the cannabis industry in Denver plus bring a national focus to it, plus they thought releasing a film would be a creative way to do that. As much as I am enjoying my time in Denver, I want to wrap production on this film so I can go back home!
