The first time I went to Albuquerque was as a little kid, to see the big annual hot air balloon festival.
This is something they host every year, and it gets more amazing every time I see it.
Years later while I was going to college some friends and I decided that we should learn how to pilot a hot air balloon, so we could be a part of the festival. If you’ve never seen it, just picture hundreds of colorful balloons filling the air in the gorgeous skies above Albuquerque. It’s like a living, breathing piece of art. It turns out that there are several different businesses in Albuquerque that offer hot air balloon flying lessons, so we took a weekend trip to check it out. Long story short, we never made it to the hot air balloon lessons, because we discovered the amazing locally grown cannabis they have in Albuquerque. I had read about the legal cannabis dispensaries in Albuquerque, but I never knew that they grew such amazing local cannabis. My friends and I rented a hotel room, spent an insane amount of money at the cannabis dispensary, and then just chilled out for the weekend. The annual hot air balloon festival in Albuquerque is an amazing spectacle, but we decided it was too much work. Why spend all that money and time learning to pilot a balloon when we could just smoke cannabis and watch all the other balloons? Besides that, we had spent so much money on Albuquerque cannabis that we didn’t have enough left over to pay for lessons.
