The people who live in Portland, Oregon are very passionate about shopping locally. I love the way that everyone here likes to shop from their friends and neighbors because that’s the way that it should be, in my opinion. I haven’t lived here for very long, but that was one of the best things about the place from the beginning for me. It was actually one of the reasons that I wanted to move here in the first place. Everyone who lives in Portland loves that type of thing. Out here, you don’t really see a whole lot of chain stores because nobody wants them. Most people tend to shop locally and most of the businesses and restaurants are locally owned. I really love that about the city of Portland. There are a huge variety of local businesses here and from grocery stores to coffee shops, you won’t find very many chain stores at all. Even the breweries and the legalized cannabis dispensaries are all locally owned. Everything that you could want or need is locally made and sourced right here in Portland. It’s a great feeling to go shopping and know that you are supporting your friends and neighbors. The other thing that I love about Portland is the fact that the people here are just really weird. There are quirky people everywhere and that’s just part of the city’s charm.
