I want access to the unit

I have a main hallway closet that I am desperate to access in my Minneapolis MN home, right now it is filled to the brim with a lot of pointless stuff.

There is an indoor air handler that sits on a platform, however it takes the heating plus cooling system to the ceiling.

I can’t put anything under the platform or I ruin the airflow. The water furnace sits right next to the HVAC plus takes up most of the room. I basically have a small space in between those two units. I can wedge a broom, vacuum, mop plus dustpan in there. I have started stacking things on the water heater. I put a shelving device to the side of the HVAC to hold rags plus cleaning supplies. I can’t help but eye up that space though. It would be the perfect spot to keep coats, boots plus junk that I don’t want to store in main areas around the house; How do I free up closet space? I am waiting for those two units to die! When the water furnace dies I am going with a tankless water furnace for my Minneapolis home. It is the size of a small suitcase plus can be wall mounted. When the HVAC system quits I am changing over to a ductless unit. I can have several indoor air handlers hooked up to a single outdoor air compressor, all the units will be in bedrooms, not the closet though. I could have zone control with this system plus a free closet. That is a long time coming through… Both machines at least have another 10 years on them.
