When I went to university for laptop programming, I never believed it would change our life, however i enjoyed coding & programming & I was entirely good! My professor noticed our labor & told myself and others about an internship for twitter for San Francisco, but the paid internship was a pressing deal & our professor guaranteed the spot for me. My fiance was surprised by the news that I wanted to uproot our life & move to the west coast, although she never questioned the decision for a minute. I love that about her, and she is so incredibly supportive, but after moving to San Francisco, our life has been severely different. All of us never lived in the city before now. All of us lived on a dirt road in the middle of farm country. My parents still live in the same cabin that I grew up in. They grow corn, potatoes, & picklees. They have never left the state of Nebraska, but when our fiance & I told them that both of us were going to move to California, they called us sellouts & got miserable. I know they were upset to lose us, however they took the news entirely hard. All of us have lived here for more than four years & they have not bothered to visit even a single time. My fiance & I have even offered to spend money for the plane tickets & hotel room. They know the city is filled with pot smokers & drug dealers. They know the venue has recreational cannabis sales & that’s all they ever talk about. They know everyone in the city is a recreational cannabis smoker, just because it is available.
